The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dignam misses with the combination.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dignam looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Good leg kick by Masiero there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Nice body kick from Masiero.
Masiero circles away from the clinch attempt.
Masiero lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Sean Dignam has been cut.

Masiero forces Dignam back against the cage and clinches.
Masiero creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Dignam's defenses.
Dignam lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Masiero.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dignam prevents a body shot from Masiero.
Dignam throws a head punch that misses.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Masiero just misses with a elbow thrown towards Dignam's brow.

Dignam pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Masiero stuffs the takedown.
Dignam tries to clinch up.
Sean Dignam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dignam closes the distance looking to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Masiero misses with a low kick.
Dignam walks forward, straight into a front kick from Masiero.
A nice leg kick lands there from Masiero.
Dignam wants to clinch up but Masiero keeps it at a distance.

Dignam closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Dignam avoids the elbow strike from Masiero, against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Masiero.
Dignam goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Dignam takes an elbow to the temple.
Masiero gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

That has opened up Sean Dignam's cut even more.
Masiero lands an elbow just above Dignam 's eye.

The cut above Sean Dignam's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Masiero lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Dignam backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dignam manages to break the clinch.
Dignam shoots in for a takedown but Masiero shows good takedown defense.
Masiero circles away from the clinch attempt

and Masiero counters by clinching up.

Masiero lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Dignam backwards.
Dignam pushes Masiero back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
A nice right hand lands inside from Dignam.
Dignam tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Masiero.
Dignam takes an elbow to the temple.

Sean Dignam's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Dignam misses with a body punch.
Dignam lands with a short shot to the head.
Masiero gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sean Dignam's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
