Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Pembelton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Yankee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pembelton comes into the arena with Hail Mary by Tupac blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Pembelton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Yankee! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yankee tries to clinch there but Pembelton circles away.
Pembelton rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yankee moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Pembelton lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Yankee fails in his attempt to clinch. Pembelton throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Yankee sees it coming and avoids it easily. Pembelton changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Yankee looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Yankee isn't going anywhere. Pembelton lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Yankee is looking to regain half guard here but Pembelton keeps moving and retains side control. Yankee gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Yankee trying to hold on to Pembelton's head to control him but Pembelton postures up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pembelton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yankee is just riding it out for now. Pembelton eventually gives up the hold. Pembelton stops Yankee from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pembelton lands with a punch from half guard. Yankee is trying to control but can't.
Pembelton not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Yankee moves into full guard.
Pembelton trying to control the position from guard on top but Yankee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yankee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Yankee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pembelton is one step ahead there. Yankee is edging up against the ropes. He's using the ropes to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pembelton manages to break the clinch.
Pembelton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Yankee was covering up waiting for the punch and Pembelton finishes the takedown easily into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Yankee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pembelton is one step ahead there. Pembelton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Yankee wants to get back to his feet but Pembelton is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Yankee trying to control the position.
Pembelton is stalling in the full guard. Yankee tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yankee avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Pembelton trying to control but Yankee is working from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Yankee tries to clinch up but Pembelton circles away and keeps his distance. Yankee tries to close the distance and clinch but Pembelton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A head kick misses from Yankee. A shot to the body from Pembelton misses and Yankee counters with a good, hard body kick but Pembelton shrugs it off. Yankee wants to clinch up but Pembelton keeps it at a distance. Yankee gets a clinch. Pembelton is trying to pull guard but Yankee has him pressed against the ropes. Pembelton taking a breather. Pembelton wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pembelton wants to break the clinch but can't.
Yankee is looking to control Pembelton's arms but Pembelton gets an underhook and turns him. Now Yankee has his back to the ropes. Yankee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Yankee tries to clinch up and Pembelton counters with a nice double leg into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Yankee working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pembelton. Yankee is looking to stand up but Pembelton isn't so interested in that idea. Pembelton throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pembelton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Yankee is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pembelton is looking to work some ground and pound but Yankee has wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Pembelton dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pembelton throws a shot to the body.
Yankee on the wrong end of a nice jab. Pembelton misses with a straight left. Pembelton avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Yankee tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Pembelton manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Yankee tries to clinch but Pembelton is having none of it. Yankee moves out of range of the strikes. Yankee ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Yankee tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Pembelton counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Yankee thinking. Pembelton keeps the fight on the outside. Pembelton lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
It looks like Jim Yankee has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Pembelton. Yankee keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Yankee tries to clinch but Pembelton moves away letting Pembelton counter with a right hand. Yankee uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pembelton.
Yankee tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Pembelton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Yankee tries to close the distance and clinch but Pembelton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Yankee just misses with a punch to the body.
Yankee tries to clinch but Pembelton moves out of range. Pembelton misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Yankee.
Jim Yankee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Yankee is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yankee buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Yankee moves to clinch but Pembelton breaks away and Pembelton counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Yankee!
Yankee is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pembelton seems to be working for a kimura but Yankee defends the submission attempt. Yankee is still in real trouble! Can Pembelton finish him? Pembelton is working for a submission of some sort.
Yankee is looking to control Pembelton's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Yankee avoid being mounted? Pembelton scores with a big shot! Yankee's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Yankee! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
