PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rogerio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Cartman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gracie might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Amazing entrance! with the theme FORT BATTLE from The Last of the Mohicans. Cartman has chosen Santana Ft Everlast - Put Your Lights On as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Eric Cartman told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Rogerio Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eric Cartman!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartman lunges at Gracie with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gracie's hand.
Cartman moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.
Gracie avoids the body shot from Cartman.
Gracie takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cartman was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gracie is looking to advance position but Cartman has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Cartman tries to control but Gracie wriggling away.
Cartman lands a big shot there that rocks Gracie but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Gracie wants to control but Cartman is having none of it.
Cartman is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gracie can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cartman in particular looking to stall.

Cartman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gracie's head.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gracie throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Eric Cartman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cartman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
