Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Bring Me to Life. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andre Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Patterson counters with a single leg into guard. Johnson didn't expect that.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Patterson won't allow Johnson to get back to his feet.
Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Patterson stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Patterson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Johnson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Patterson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Patterson shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jack Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Patterson.

This has been an exciting period of action!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Patterson is pushing down on Johnson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Patterson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Patterson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
