Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hong Man Hennessy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stompin Tom! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hennessy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tom fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hennessy, pushing him back against the cage. Hennessy is stalling here.
Tom breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tom should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Tom wants to clinch up but Hennessy keeps it at a distance. Tom will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tom avoids the head kick by Hennessy.

Hennessy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tom to the mat! Tom manages to get full guard. Tom is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tom is looking for a triangle here but Hennessy uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Great action here. Hennessy is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Tom knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Tom for a finish. Hennessy doesn't have the hooks in and Tom manages to turn into his guard.

Hennessy tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hennessy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hennessy working for a triangle but Tom defends it easily.
Tom trying to control but Hennessy is working from the bottom. Hennessy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hennessy wants to work for an arm triangle but Tom is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Tom is looking to control Hennessy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tom avoid being mounted? The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tom throws a right and a left that both miss. Tom tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hennessy paws at him with a jab and circles away. Tom throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Tom fails to land the takedown. Tom lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Hennessy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hennessy blocks a jab. Tom tries to clinch up but Hennessy circles away and keeps his distance. Tom is looking to clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tom fails in his attempt to clinch. Stompin Tom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tom tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hennessy swivels and escapes. Left hook, right uppercut from Tom. Hennessy slips a jab from Tom. Hennessy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tom can pounce on him.

Hennessy looks for a takedown but Tom sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hong Man Hennessy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tom pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Good exchange - Tom coming out on top. Hennessy tries for a takedown but Tom sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Tom tries to clinch up but Hennessy circles away and keeps his distance. Tom tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hennessy swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hennessy will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Tom lands with a right that hurts Hennessy. Hennessy looks to clinch but Tom throws a short knee that drops Hennessy. This one is all over!
