Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anton Pashurinko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Watanabe Iori! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pashurinko shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Iori counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Pashurinko keeping moving, preventing Iori from controlling successfully. Iori tries to free his leg and advance position but Pashurinko is retaining full guard. Pashurinko looking for a guillotine here but Iori defends easily.
Iori looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Pashurinko trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Iori keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pashurinko's head. Iori throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pashurinko works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Pashurinko keeping moving, preventing Iori from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pashurinko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Iori defends it easily. Iori sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pashurinko's guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Iori passes to side control. The ref stands the fighters back up. Watanabe Iori was stalling too much, according to the referee. Pashurinko is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Iori. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Iori jabbing away but nothing is landing. Some wild striking there from Iori.
Iori fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pashurinko to the ground. Iori is now in Pashurinko's guard.

Pashurinko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Iori gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Iori trying to control the position from guard on top but Pashurinko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Iori might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pashurinko kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Iori looking to pass the guard. Pashurinko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Iori doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Iori manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Iori controlling from the top position. Iori avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pashurinko is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pashurinko working for a triangle but Iori defends it easily.
Iori wants to control from the top but Pashurinko keeps moving. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pashurinko preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Iori trying to control the position from guard on top but Pashurinko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pashurinko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Iori can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Pashurinko can't keep his opponent in guard - Iori advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Iori controlling the action here. Iori wants to take a breather but Pashurinko is having none of it. Pashurinko is trying to maintain the position but Iori is very close to passing his half guard. Iori is looking for a kimura here.
Pashurinko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Iori is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pashurinko sees it coming and defends easily.

Iori is looking to take a break and control but Pashurinko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Watanabe Iori has got the better of the ground game so far. Iori thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Iori looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Pashurinko actively working from the bottom here. Iori is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Pashurinko wants to control but Iori is keeping busy.
Pashurinko is looking for a sweep. Iori is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Iori seems to be looking for submissions.

Pashurinko keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Iori. Iori fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Pashurinko with a lazy takedown attempt and Iori makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pashurinko is defended easily by Iori. Pashurinko doesn't succeed with the takedown and Iori moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anton Pashurinko. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pashurinko is working for takedown but Iori is calmly controlling the position for now. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Iori. Pashurinko fails to pull guard.
