Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, William Harrison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Powell! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harrison stuffs the takedown. Harrison looks for a takedown but Powell sprawls well. No luck with that takedown attempt from Harrison. Harrison decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Harrison is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Powell! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Harrison with a couple of short strikes. Harrison with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Harrison's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Harrison has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Harrison looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Harrison has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Powell's face.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Harrison is working for a guillotine from mount but Powell frees his head quite easily.
Powell is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Powell taking shots to the head. Harrison cracks Powell with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Harrison stuffs the takedown attempt from Powell. Powell gets slowly back to his feet. Powell leaves Harrison with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Harrison dives in and grabs Powell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Powell pushes down on Harrison's head and hops out. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Harrison here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Harrison decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Powell is not content to let Harrison control the position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Harrison lands a nice short elbow. Harrison wants to lay and pray for a moment but Powell keeps working. Harrison throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Powell trying to control but Harrison postures up.
Harrison is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Powell can do to turn this around?
That's one minute gone in the round. Powell is not content to let Harrison control the position. Harrison works his foot free and advances to mount. Harrison lands a heavy elbow. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Harrison cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Harrison has control of Powell's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Powell regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Harrison escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Powell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Powell wants to stand but Harrison has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Powell wants to get up but he can't break Harrison's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Harrison controlling the position. Harrison lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Powell! Harrison tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Powell is bucking up trying to escape but Harrison cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harrison trying to control but he's not successful this time. Harrison is in the full mount, landing strikes. This has been an exciting period of action! Harrison sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Powell tries to hold on but Harrison pushes him away. William Harrison overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Harrison controlling from the full mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Harrison seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Powell for as long as he can get away with. Powell sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Powell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Harrison as he avoids it easily. Harrison misses with a takedown attempt - Powell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Harrison throws a leg kick and Powell counters with a shoot takedown. Harrison fights it but they end up in guard. Powell has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Harrison is proving hard to escape from. Powell wants to stand and escape but instead Harrison has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Harrison is stalling in the full guard. Powell can't keep his opponent in guard - Harrison advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Powell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powell is trying to stand up here but Harrison is controlling him well. Harrison is trying to control. Powell wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Harrison missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Harrison tries to pass to full mount but Powell defends it. Harrison prevents Powell from standing back up.
Harrison is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Powell is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
