Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Brutalis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Guerrero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Don Brutalis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesus Guerrero !
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brutalis looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Brutalis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Brutalis tries to free his leg and advance position but Guerrero is retaining full guard.
Brutalis stays in close to Guerrero 's body and controls the position.
Guerrero is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Brutalis is looking to work some ground and pound but Guerrero has wrist control.
Brutalis sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Don Brutalis.
Guerrero fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

A nice combination there by Brutalis.


It looks like Jesus Guerrero has been cut.

Brutalis lands a left and a right that send Guerrero crashing to the mat, dazed. Brutalis thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brutalis will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Guerrero up against the cage.

Brutalis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Brutalis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Guerrero paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Guerrero fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Don Brutalis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Guerrero .

Brutalis shoots in looking for a takedown but Guerrero manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brutalis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Brutalis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Guerrero 's waist but Guerrero gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brutalis off to one side.

A head kick misses from Guerrero .
Guerrero wants to clinch but Brutalis slips to the side
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Guerrero has managed to clinch.
Guerrero tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Brutalis manages to break the clinch.
Brutalis shoots in for a double leg but Guerrero sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Guerrero stuffs the takedown.
Guerrero throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brutalis's waist but Brutalis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Guerrero off to one side.
Guerrero gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Brutalis shoots in for a takedown but Guerrero shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A right-left combo lands from Brutalis.
Brutalis fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Guerrero doesn't manage to clinch there - Brutalis circles away.

Guerrero leaves Brutalis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Brutalis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Guerrero throws a head kick that misses.
Guerrero shoots in for a takedown but Brutalis shows good takedown defense.
Guerrero is trying desperately to land a takedown but Brutalis is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Guerrero .
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Brutalis landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Brutalis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Brutalis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Guerrero , pushing him back against the cage.
Guerrero is trying to break the clinch but Brutalis has him pressed against the cage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Guerrero wants to get up but he can't break Brutalis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Brutalis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Guerrero manages to get himself to full guard.

Brutalis is pushing down on Guerrero 's leg trying to pass to half guard. Guerrero is fighting to maintain full guard but Brutalis has managed to sneak the leg through.

Brutalis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Guerrero doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Brutalis.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Guerrero gets tackled into the cage by Brutalis. Brutalis maintains the clinch.
Guerrero is looking to control Brutalis's arms but Brutalis gets an underhook and turns him. Now Guerrero has his back to the cage.
Brutalis blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Guerrero throws a punch but it's blocked by Brutalis.

Brutalis has Guerrero pressed against the cage, preventing Guerrero from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Guerrero takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Brutalis shoots in looking for a takedown. Guerrero tries to sprawl out of it but Brutalis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Guerrero manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Brutalis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Guerrero pulls his head out easily.
Guerrero working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Guerrero trying to control the position from guard on top but Brutalis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Guerrero really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brutalis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Brutalis has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Jesus Guerrero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brutalis scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Brutalis has closed the distance and engaged Guerrero in a clinch.
Don Brutalis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brutalis is trying to pull guard but Guerrero turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Don Brutalis.
Well Brutalis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
