PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between The KO (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dielange Lamzak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, The KO!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dielange Lamzak!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamzak shoots in looking for a takedown but KO manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lamzak's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
KO shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lamzak eats them both and turns towards KO to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

KO rushes Lamzak and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
KO gets underhooks to prevent Lamzak's takedown attempt.
KO has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A frustrated look appears on KO's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Lamzak wants to take the fight to the mat but KO manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
The KO has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dielange Lamzak.
Lamzak is trying to work for a single leg takedown but KO pulls him back up using the underhooks.

KO wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lamzak has him pressed against the cage.

KO is looking to control Lamzak's arms but Lamzak gets an underhook and turns him. Now KO has his back to the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for KO.
KO misses with the head strike.

KO is trying to stall.
Nice body punch from KO - that landed with a thud.
KO taking a breather.
Lamzak drops down looking for an ankle pick but KO pulls his leg out and moves away.

KO moves into the clinch.
Lamzak blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Still in the clinch, KO scores with a nice short uppercut.
KO will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Lamzak up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
KO tries to work over Lamzak's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
KO has had enough of the clinch but Lamzak keeps him there for the moment.
KO is trying to force a seperation but Lamzak has the dominant position.
KO is trying to break the clinch but Lamzak is controlling him.
KO trying to stall but Lamzak improves his position.
Lamzak is trying to work for a single leg takedown but KO pulls him back up using the underhooks.
KO fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
KO wants to get back to striking at distance but Lamzak won't allow it.
KO looking to slow down the pace here.

KO tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Lamzak has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. KO is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
KO works on Lamzak's body with a couple of short punches.
KO is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
KO has a couple of punches blocked by Lamzak.
KO wants to break free but Lamzak has control.
Lamzak blocks an uppercut.
KO swings wildly with an uppercut but Lamzak uses good head movement to avoid it.
KO misses with a short punch on the inside.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
KO is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Lamzak is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but KO is defending well.
KO tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
KO is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
KO misses with a punch to the body.
Lamzak tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. KO just stands there and leans against the cage.
KO stalling the fight.
KO throws a head punch that misses.
KO fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lamzak wants to take the fight to the mat but KO manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
KO tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Lamzak's elbow.
KO throws a punch but it's blocked by Lamzak.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The KO dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


KO misses with a looping right.
KO throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

KO has managed to clinch.
Lamzak prevents KO from breaking the clinch.
KO looking to stall.
Maybe KO would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.
KO goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
KO swings wildly with an uppercut but Lamzak uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lamzak wants a takedown but no success here.

Lamzak decides to pull guard.

Lamzak looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lamzak has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but KO can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lamzak is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Lamzak thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed KO's head.

Lamzak working over KO with some ground and pound. KO looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
KO might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lamzak is looking for a kimura here.
Lamzak scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Lamzak throwing shots but KO is blocking nicely.

KO is trying to stand back up but Lamzak is controlling him
Lamzak looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lamzak in particular looking to stall.

KO is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lamzak scores with a couple of nice shots.
Lamzak looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks KO with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lamzak stalling.
Lamzak's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Lamzak has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lamzak is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dielange Lamzak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



KO has closed the distance and engaged Lamzak in a clinch.
KO swings away with an uppercut that misses.
KO can't find room to land a body shot as Lamzak controls the action.
Lamzak goes for a takedown in the clinch but KO prevents it.
The KO has scored more points in the clinch so far.
KO wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lamzak has him pressed against the cage.
KO trying to control the position but instead, Lamzak has worked for underhooks and has pushed KO into the cage.
KO working hard to break the clinch.

Lamzak manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lamzak is on top in guard.

Lamzak throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Lamzak makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lamzak's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Lamzak is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Lamzak postures up in KO's guard and throws a big left but KO blocks it.
Lamzak is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lamzak shoots in but no luck this time.
KO scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

KO clinches up with Lamzak and pushes him back against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
KO lands with a light punch inside.
Lamzak blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Lamzak jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as KO walks away with a smile on his face. Lamzak gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
The KO has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dielange Lamzak.

KO has taken the fight to the clinch.
KO wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lamzak has him pressed against the cage.
KO wants to break free but Lamzak has control.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Lamzak as KO tries to tie him up.
KO wants to break the clinch but can't.

Lamzak pulls guard effortlessly.
Lamzak bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in KO's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
KO preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Lamzak stays in close to KO's body and controls the position.
Dielange Lamzak has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lamzak stands up over KO, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
KO can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lamzak controls the pace.
Let's hope that Lamzak has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dielange Lamzak comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lamzak has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
