Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Wittman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Larson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Wittman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Larson! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wittman feints and as Larson raises his hands in defense, Wittman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wittman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Larson controls Wittman momentarily but Wittman frees himself. Wittman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Wittmanis looking to pass into half guard but Larson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Larson is in guard. Larson postures up.
Wittman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Larson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Larson trying to control but Wittman is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wittman looking to control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Wittman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. The fight stays on the outside here - Wittman looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A punch combination from Larson misses. Wittman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Larson counters with a thumping low kick. Larson gets caught flat footed, as Wittman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Larson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Wittman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Larson is keeping the position for now. Larson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Larson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Wittman closes the distance but Larson moves to the side and Larson counters with a flying knee. Nice. Wittman wants to clinch but Larson slips to the side so Larson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Wittman looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wittman is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Wittman has control of Larson's left arm, preventing Larson from doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A low kick from Wittman is predictable there and Larson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Larson. Wittman wants to get back to his feet but Larson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Larson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wittman is keeping the position for now. Larson connects with a couple of short punches. Larson gets to his feet. Wittman looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Wittman needs to keep his hands up - Larson had a free shot at his head there. Wittman with a lazy takedown attempt so Larson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Wittman misses with a looping right. Wittman shoots for a takedown but Larson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Larson shoots and misses and Wittman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Wittman. Wittman throws a big right hand that misses. Larson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wittman controls the pace. Wittman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wittman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Larson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Larson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Wittman wants to control but Larson is keeping busy.
The fighters are battling for position here. Wittman manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Wittman tries to land a sweep but no joy. Wittman seems keen to control Larson's posture. Wittman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Larson is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Wittman keeping moving, preventing Larson from controlling successfully. Wittman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Wittman has Larson pulled in close to control his posture. Wittman trying to keep a closed guard but Larson is proving a slippery customer.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wittman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Wittman tries to clinch but Larson moves away and Larson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Larson stuffs the takedown attempt from Wittman. Wittman gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Wittman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Larson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wittman paws at him with a jab and circles away. Wittman tries to clinch and Larson counters with a single leg into guard. Wittman didn't expect that. Wittman looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wittman is trying to keep Larson in close.
Larson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Larson lands a right hook to the body.

and Larson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wittman won't be happy with that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A lull in the action here as Larson stalls from top position. Wittman is trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Larson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Larson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wittman keeps working. Larson tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Who's going to make the next move? Wittman manages to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dean Larson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Wittman tries a head kick but it misses.
Wittman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Wittman tries to clinch but fails miserably and Larson counters by moving into the clinch. Wittman has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Larson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Wittman fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Wittman can't fight it off and eventually Larson manages to take the fight to the floor. Wittman looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Wittman looking to control.
Larson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Larson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Wittman fails with the takedown. Wittman shoots in and drives through. Larson sprawls well. Wittman with a lazy takedown attempt and Larson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Larson. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Larson tightens his grip and picks Wittman up, before dumping him to the ground. Wittman manages to land in guard. Larson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Larson wants to control from the top but Wittman keeps moving. Larson stands and throws Wittman's legs to the side, diving into side control. Larson trying to control the position but Wittman is working away. Larson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Larson throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Wittman is trying to get back to half guard. Wittman is not content to let Larson control the position.

Larson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wittman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Larson, into his guard. Wittman controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wittman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. A combination from Wittman does no damage. Larson with a poor takedown and Wittman counters with a nice double leg into guard. Wittman won't allow Larson to sweep him here. Larson is pulling down on Wittman's head. It's preventing any offense from Wittman, at least for the moment. Larson looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Larson throws his legs up looking for a submission but Wittman uses it to pass to side control.
Wittman stands up. Wittman fails in his attempt to clinch. Larson throws a sloppy head kick and Wittman moves out of range easily. Larson misses with a takedown and Wittman counters with a single leg into guard. Larson didn't expect that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Larson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wittman controls the pace. Larson is looking for a triangle here but Wittman uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wittman is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Dean Larson. Well Larson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
