And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Hall!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hall tries to get to full guard but Carter has control of the leg.
Hall is trying to control but can't.
Carter works his foot free and advances to mount.
Hall tries to reverse the position but Carter maintains control.
Carter can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hall is looking to escape.
Hall is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Carter tries to control but Hall wriggling away.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Hall struggling a bit here.

Carter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Carter is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Hall has managed to free his arm - good work.

Carter is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hall is just riding it out for now. Carter eventually gives up the hold.

Carter is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Hall has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hall is looking to escape.
Hall is looking to improve his position.

Carter is working for a submission of some sort.
Carter uses his free foot to push down on Hall's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hall.
Hall can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Carter dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hall moves in looking to clinch but Carter pushes him off.
Andrew Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carter blocks the body kick.

Carter looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hall!
Hall stops Carter from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hall is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Carter takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Hall is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Carter working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Hall trying to control the hands but Carter breaks the grip.

Carter is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hall defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Andrew Carter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hall is breathing heavily.

Carter working for a choke but Hall is defending well.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Carter is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hall defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Hall is trying to defend against the choke here but Carter has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Carter Tightens the hold and Hall taps out furiously! Carter displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
