Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jarius Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny Karsk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jarius Evans! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kenny Karsk! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karsk looks to score with a jab to the body but Evans is just out of range. Karsk shoots in and bounces Evans off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Evans is breathing heavily. Karsk lands a couple of digs. Karsk content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Karsk forces his way into half guard. Karsk is looking to take a break and control but Evans is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Karsk blocks the strikes from Evans.
Karsk takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Karsk lands strikes from half guard. Karsk is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Karsk wants to free his trapped foot but Evans is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karsk content to control rather than advance. Karsk landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Karsk is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Evans has managed to free his arm - good work. Karsk trying to control from half guard but Evans is working away. Evans misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Karsk is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Karsk escapes and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No joy there for Karsk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Evans shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Evans looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Karsk keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Karsk wants to hold on but Evans pushes him away. Karsk is trying desperately to improve position. Karsk is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Karsk is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Karsk is trying desperately to improve position. Evans fails to move to back control. Evans looking to finish with strikes here!
Evans wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Karsk regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Karsk wants to get back to his feet. Evans seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Karsk does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Karsk trying to get back to full guard but Evans takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Karsk keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Karsk tries to hold on but Evans pushes him away. Karsk is looking to improve his position but Evans isn't that keen on the idea. Evans putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Karsk is in all sorts of trouble here.
Karsk tries to lock up and control but Evans gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Karsk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Evans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenny Karsk dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Evans circles away from the clinch attempt.
Karsk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Karsk tries to advance to mount but can't. Karsk trying to control the action but Evans is working from the bottom. Evans is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Karsk wants to lay and pray for a moment but Evans keeps working. Karsk lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Evans down.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Evans tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Karsk wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Karsk working the body and head with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karsk is chipping away with strikes.
Karsk is looking to take a break and control but Evans is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Karsk stands up. Evans throws a low kick, looking for Karsk's leg but Karsk calmly moves out of range. Karsk fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Evans manages to avoid it. Evans shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Evans was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Evans can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Karsk is looking to escape. Karsk manages to regain half guard. Good work. Evans trying to control the action but Karsk is working from the bottom. Kenny Karsk has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karsk looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Karsk desperately trying to maintain half guard. Evans wants to free his trapped foot but Karsk is holding on for dear life with his legs. Karsk is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Karsk looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Karsk keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Karsk throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Karsk fails in his attempt to clinch. Karsk misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jarius Evans is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Evans takes the fight into the clinch. Karsk tries to break the clinch but Evans is controlling the position. Evans jumps guard.

Karsk trying to control but Evans is working from the bottom. Evans tries to land a sweep but no joy. Evans throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Evans is looking for a triangle but Karsk pushes his legs off easily.
Karsk must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Karsk trying to control but Evans is working from the bottom. Evans trying to strike off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Evans keeping moving, preventing Karsk from controlling successfully. Karsk postures up.
Karsk has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Evans to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Karsk is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Evans pulls down on the head and he's put Karsk to sleep! This one is all over!
