Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bud Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bud Spencer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Lane!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Spencer drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Spencer prevents Lane from getting back to his feet.
Spencer throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Spencer is looking to work some ground and pound but Lane has wrist control.
Spencer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Spencer throws and elbow that misses. Lane uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Spencer's guard. Nice move by Lane!
Lane must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Spencer thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Spencer wants to sweep here but Lane controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Spencer closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lane circles away.
Lane wants to clinch up but Spencer keeps it at a distance.

and Spencer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lane won't be happy with that.

Spencer creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lane sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Lane suckers Spencer into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Lane is now in Spencer's guard!

Spencer lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lane hang on?
Spencer pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Lane is bucking up trying to escape but Spencer cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Spencer cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Spencer is landing with some decent strikes but Lane is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lane is desperately trying to improve his position but Spencer has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bud Spencer dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Spencer fails with the takedown

and Lane holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Lane breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bud Spencer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Spencer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Spencer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Spencer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Spencer creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Spencer looks up at the clock and then as Lane takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Spencer smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

A close second round but John Lane will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Horrible takedown by Lane or perhaps it was just good defense by Spencer which made him look bad.

Lane doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Lane is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Spencer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lane is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Spencer, into his guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Spencer cracks Lane with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bud Spencer showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Spencer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
