Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Ghita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vlad Krukiov!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ghita lands a jab to Krukiov's midsection.
Ghita fails to land with a series of punches.
Krukiov doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Krukiov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ghita as he jumps to the side.
Nice takedown defense from Ghita. No joy for Krukiov on that attempt.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ghita tries a head kick but it misses.
Ghita misses with a head kick.
Ghita misses with a body shot.
Krukiov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Krukiov looks gassed!
Krukiov tries to pass to full mount but Ghita defends it.
Ghita keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ghita wants to control but Krukiov is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Krukiov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ghita defends it well.
Ghita is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ghita is looking for a sweep. Krukiov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Krukiov wants to pass to mount but Ghita is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ghita throws a left that rocks Krukiov and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Ghita dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Krukiov regain composure!
Krukiov is rocked!
Ghita decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Krukiov is still on wobbly legs! Can Ghita finish him?
Ghita lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Krukiov crumples to the floor! Ghita milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Daniel Ghita!
