Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Svenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tero Pitajainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tero Pitajainen!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Svenson moves into range and clinches up with Pitajainen.
Svenson misses with a knee to the head.

Svenson lands an elbow inside that Pitajainen shrugs off.


It looks like Tero Pitajainen has been cut.

Svenson has hold of one of Pitajainen's legs. Pitajainen is fighting the takedown attempt but Svenson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Svenson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Pitajainen has control of Svenson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Svenson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Svenson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pitajainen manages to get himself to full guard.

Well Svenson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
