Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randy Orton!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orton clobbers Jones with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Orton feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Joness jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Orton lands with a straight right. Jones didn't see that one coming.

Jones clinches.
Orton blocks an uppercut.
Jones has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Orton avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Orton gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jones.
Jones wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Orton avoids the elbow strike from Jones, against the cage.
Jones is trying to push Orton away but Orton has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Jones drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Orton gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Orton makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
A frustrated look appears on Jones's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Jones tries to circle away but Orton has him pinned against the cage.
Jones tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Orton lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
Orton misses with a punch on the inside.
Orton softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Orton avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Orton scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Jones wants the takedown. Orton is fighting it off but Jones persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Orton's guard against the cage.
Orton is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Orton is retaining full guard.

Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Orton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Orton seems keen to control Jones's posture.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Orton is retaining full guard.

Orton is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Jones has his hands clasped together but Orton extends an breaks Jones's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Orton.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Randy Orton!
A determined Randy Orton didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
