Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Harrison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Takana Ujiro! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A decent looking cross lands there for Ujiro. Harrison wants to clinch up but Ujiro keeps it at a distance. Ujiro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Harrison. Ujiro cracks the inside of Harrison's front leg. Harrison closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ujiro to the mat! Ujiro manages to get full guard. Ujiro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Harrison doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Harrison manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ujiro lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Harrison! Harrison manages to regain half guard. Good work. Ujiro seems to be working for a kimura but Harrison defends the submission attempt. Harrison works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harrison wants to stand up but Ujiro is controlling him. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Harrison holds on and takes a little breather. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Harrison pushes a forearm under Ujiro's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ujiro is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
