Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Micheal Svennson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Svennson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thomas.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Thomas.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Thomas works to advance to full mount. Svennson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Thomas lands a nice shot to the head.
Svennson tries to hold on but Thomas pushes him away.
BOOM! Thomas connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Svennson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Thomas is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Svennson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Thomas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Thomas has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Thomas goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Svennson is on top in guard.

Thomas has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Svennson is trying to keep an underhook but Thomas manages to get the takedown into half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thomas is just content to waste time from the top position. Svennson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Svennson is trying to control the position but Thomas postures up.

and Thomas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Svennson's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Thomas cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Thomas wants to finish this one by submission but Svennson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Thomas.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Thomas shoots in and bounces Svennson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Thomas not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Svennson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Graham Thomas spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
