Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aamos Berg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Otto von Goldstein! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! von Goldstein closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - von Goldstein lands in his opponent's guard. von Goldstein is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Berg not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. von Goldstein stands up and waves to Berg to follow him. von Goldstein feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. von Goldstein looking to pass the guard. von Goldstein looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Berg avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Berg utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. von Goldstein makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Berg wants to hit a switch here but von Goldstein passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Berg there! Berg taking shots to the head. von Goldstein wants to control the pace but Berg is squirming around nicely. von Goldstein working the ground and pound effectively.
Berg tries to reverse the position but von Goldstein maintains control. Berg takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Berg is wriggling around trying to escape.
Berg is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! von Goldstein postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Berg looks a forlorn figure.
von Goldstein cracks Berg with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Berg is trying desperately to improve position. von Goldstein dominating with strikes here. BOOM! von Goldstein connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The referee warns Berg that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
von Goldstein landing strikes, looking to finish! von Goldstein sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Berg on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Berg tries to get out of the position. von Goldstein's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! von Goldstein can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Berg is looking to escape. Berg knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for von Goldstein on the ground. von Goldstein scores with a couple of good head shots there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Berg is wriggling around trying to escape.
von Goldstein tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Berg is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
von Goldstein controlling his opponent. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Otto von Goldstein dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
von Goldstein shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than von Goldstein was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! von Goldstein wants to control the pace but Berg is squirming around nicely. von Goldstein with the ground and pound from mount. von Goldstein with good strikes from the mount here!
