Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Fauteux! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cole Hamels! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fauteux throws a hook but Hamels blocks it. Fauteux misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hamels is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fauteux. Fauteux throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Hamels swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Fauteux counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Cole Hamels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hamels misses with a double jab
and Fauteux counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Hamels misses with a wild body shot. Hamels misses with a double jab.
Fauteux cracks Hamels with a right hand to the side of the head. Hamels falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hamels is countered with a crisp right hand from Fauteux that sends him to the canvas! Fauteux follows him to the mat into side control.
Hamels is rocked! Fauteux remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Hamels is still in real trouble! Can Fauteux finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamels seems to have recovered his senses. Fauteux wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hamels, who protects the arm well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Fauteux misses with an uppercut. Hamels saw that one coming. Fauteux lands a head shot. Nice defenses there by Hamels. Hamels thows a left - swing and a miss! Fauteux ducks under a wild hook from Hamels. Fauteux throws a series of punches but Hamels moves out of range. Hamels throws a combination that misses and Fauteux counters with a beautiful punch that sends Hamels to the canvas! Hamels keeping moving, preventing Fauteux from controlling successfully. Fauteux gets to his feet. Hamels looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Fauteux dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Fauteux stalks Hamels and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hamels's face. Hamels staggers backwards, shaken. Fauteux lands a slapping body shot.

and Fauteux counters with a crisp right that sends Hamels to the canvas! Fauteux follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
