Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jan Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Harthmeppe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jan Kowalski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hugo Harthmeppe!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harthmeppe tries to clinch but Kowalski is having none of it.
Harthmeppe fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kowalski.

Kowalski lands a jab to the head.
Kowalski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Harthmeppe's waist but Harthmeppe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kowalski off to one side.

Harthmeppe lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Harthmeppe lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kowalski backwards.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Kowalski is trying to drag Harthmeppe to the mat but Harthmeppe just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jan Kowalski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Harthmeppe lands a good knee to the midsection. Kowalski won't want to take too many of those.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harthmeppe shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kowalski eats them both and turns towards Harthmeppe to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Harthmeppe tries to pull guard but Kowalski holds him up against the cage and eventually Harthmeppe drops back down to his feet.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kowalski crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Harthmeppe - the referee stops the clock and Kowalski gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Harthmeppe. Kowalski manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

The crowd cheers as Harthmeppe lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kowalski doesn't seem phased though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harthmeppe tries to escape back to his feet but Kowalski has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Harthmeppe's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Harthmeppe is tapping! Kowalski saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jan Kowalski!
A very excited looking Jan Kowalski made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
