The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eagles misses with a takedown attempt - Catcher sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Eagles gets caught flat footed, as Catcher shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Eagles is trying to control the position but Catcher postures up.
Catcher is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Eagles manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Catcher manages to get himself to full guard.

Eagles passes Catcher's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Eagles is trying to control the action in half guard but Catcher is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Catcher is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Eagles pulls his head out easily.

Eagles seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Catcher does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eagles tries to pass the half guard into mount. Catcher knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Eagles wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Catcher has him pressed against the cage.

Catcher has hold of one of Eagles's legs. Eagles is fighting the takedown attempt but Catcher gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Eagles bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Catcher's guard.
