Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Sperry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sperry takes one to the side of the head.
Smith keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sperry.
Sperry moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Dante Smith has been cut.
Smith looks to score with a jab to the body but Sperry is just out of range.
A slapping body kick lands there for Smith.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sperry sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Sperry is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Smith pulls his head out easily.
Smith throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Sperry working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Sperry is tightening it up a little... Smith has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Smith reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Smith taps out! Nice BJJ there by Sperry!
