The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyle fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Utini lands with a good body shot.
Utini connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kyle's hands.
Utini looks to score with a jab to the body but Kyle is just out of range.
Utini throws a body punch but Kyle moves out of range.
Utini throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kyle throws a hook but Utini avoids it easily.
Kyle misses with a body shot.
Kyle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Utini but Utini pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Utini connects with a body shot that sends Kyle's belly button to the back.
Kyle fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Utini sprawls well initially but Kyle persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kyle seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Utini is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Takeru Kyle!
Takeru Kyle was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
