Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Douglas Amaral! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee slips under a jab. Lee is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Amaral throws a right and a left that both miss. Michael Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Amaral blocks a head kick by Lee.
Lee gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Amaral to score an easy takedown into full guard. Amaral throwing strikes from guard but Lee blocks nicely. Amaral trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom. Lee trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Amaral drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lee dives on top into guard. Lee is looking to stand up but Amaral won't let him. Lee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lee throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Amaral works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Amaral keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee wants to stand but Amaral is controlling his posture from full guard. Amaral lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lee! Lee tries to get back to half guard but can't. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Amaral cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Lee wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Amaral.
Lee tries to hold on but Amaral postures up. Lee is wriggling around trying to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Amaral lands a big elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee tries to hold on but Amaral pushes him away. Amaral tries to control but Lee wriggling away. Amaral lands a big elbow. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Amaral wants to finish this one by submission but Lee is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Amaral. Lee tries to lock up and control but Amaral gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Lee is desperately trying to improve his position but Amaral has a good base and remains in mount. Amaral trying to control but he's not successful this time. Amaral is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lee can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amaral tries to control but Lee wriggling away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Amaral is in the full mount, landing strikes. Amaral has hold of Lee's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lee manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Lee is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Amaral avoids the attempt from Lee to control. Lee is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Amaral throws some wild stikes that Lee manages to avoid easily.
Lee blocking the ground and pound. Amaral throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Lee is wriggling around trying to escape.
Amaral tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Lee tries to lock up and control but Amaral gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lee blocking the ground and pound. Lee is in all sorts of trouble here.
Lee wants to control but Amaral is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Amaral with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Lee is looking to get to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Douglas Amaral dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Lee tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Amaral counters with a takedown into side control. Amaral wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lee, who protects the arm well. Lee is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Amaral off and has taken his back! Lee struggling to keep hold of the position.

Amaral holding both Lee 's hands and preventing any damage. Amaral wants to control his opponent's hands but Lee gets his hands free. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lee is punishing Amaral with strikes - can he finish him?! Lee is trying to stick to Amaral's back but Amaral is turning into Lee. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Lee's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Amaral.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee controls Amaral momentarily but Amaral frees himself. Amaral stands up over Lee, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Lee wants to control but Amaral passes easily into half guard.

Douglas Amaral has got the better of the ground game so far. Amaral is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Amaral trying to control the action but Lee is working from the bottom. Lee is pressing down on Amaral's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Amaral throws a strike but Lee rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Amaral is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Amaral is looking for a triangle but Lee pushes his legs off easily.
Lee is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lee wants to stand but Amaral has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Amaral is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lee defends well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee gets to his feet. Amaral looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Amaral has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Lee. Amaral throws a series of punches but Lee avoids them all with ease. Horrible takedown by Amaral or perhaps it was just good defense by Lee which made him look bad. Lee is looking to clinch. Lee wants to clinch and Lee takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lee keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Amaral throws a shot from downtown. Lee moves away and avoids it. Amaral throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lee. Lee looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Amaral is breathing heavily. Amaral circles away from the clinch attempt.
A slapping body kick lands there for Lee. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lee tries to clinch up. Lee forces Amaral back against the cage and clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lee has closed the distance and engaged Amaral in a clinch.
Amaral looking for a takedown. A short left from Lee. Lee unloads a knee to the mid-section. Lee lands a nice uppercut. Lee lands a knee to the body.
Lee lands a nice knee to the body. Lee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lee is looking to clinch but Amaral is avoiding it.
Amaral drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Lee tries to close the distance and clinch but Amaral swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Lee closes the distance and pushes Amaral back into the cage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lee scores a nice knee to the body.
Lee will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Amaral up against the cage. Lee lands a body punch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Lee dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Amaral swats away the attempt to clinch by Lee. Amaral shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lee pinned against the cage. Lee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lee takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Amaral paws at him with a jab and circles away. Lee lands a big head kick that sends Amaral tumbling to the mat! Lee takes a step backwards and waves Amaral back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Amaral is rocked!
It looks like Douglas Amaral has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lee moves into the clinch. Amaral is still on wobbly legs! Can Lee finish him? Lee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lee pushes Amaral up against the cage in a clinch. Lee pressing his opponent against the cage. Lee jerks Amaral to the side and lands a massive knee to the head that knocks him out cold! Amaral's lifeless body is proped up only by the cage. Lee steps back, hand raised, as the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Michael Lee! Michael Lee decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
