Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Swagger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denny Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chase has chosen Forever as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tommy Swagger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Denny Chase! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swagger clinches up against the cage. Swagger misses with a hook from the clinch. Swagger lands a damaging elbow. Chase blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Swagger goes for a takedown in the clinch but Chase prevents it.
Swagger tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Chase avoids it. Chase is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Swagger gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Chase regains guard.
Swagger working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Swagger stops Chase from standing up. Chase keeping full guard, as Swagger tries to pass. Swagger trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Chase wants to get back to his feet but Swagger is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Swagger in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Swagger not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chase can't keep his opponent in guard - Swagger advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Swagger thows a huge punch but Chase dodges it nicely.
Swagger throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Swagger is nestled in close to Chase, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Swagger lands a nice short elbow. Swagger wants to pass to mount but Chase is defending the position. Chase tries to kick Swagger off but Swagger keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Swagger lands strikes from half guard. Swagger is trying to work for a kimura but Chase is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Swagger winds up and cracks Chase with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Swagger sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Chase defending well though. Chase is defending against the submission attempts here by Swagger.
Chase is looking for a sweep. Swagger is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Swagger throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Swagger takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Swagger is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Chase defends it well. Chase trying to control but Swagger postures up.
Swagger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Swagger thows a huge punch but Chase dodges it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swagger is looking to take a break and control but Chase is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Swagger is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Swagger lands with a punch from half guard. Swagger controlling the action here. Swagger works his foot free and advances to mount. Swagger jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Chase is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Chase and Swagger has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Swagger misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Chase takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chase is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Swagger scores with punches from side control. Swagger scoring with punches and elbows. The strikes coming from Swagger are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Swagger in side control, throwing shots but Chase defends. Chase is looking for a sweep. Swagger scores with punches from side control. You can see the frustration on Chase's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Swagger throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Swagger connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Chase some visible discomfort.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Swagger trying to control the position but Chase is working away. Swagger has hold of Chase's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Chase tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Swagger cranks the arm and Chase screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Chase, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Tommy Swagger!
