Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edson Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexej Stepanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perry comes to the cage accompanied by Shadow of the Day. Stepanov has chosen Limp Bizkit - My Generation as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Edson Perry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexej Stepanov! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perry moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Stepanov looking to score a takedown here. Perry is defending well but Stepanov drives through and ends up in Perry's guard. Stepanov is looking to work some ground and pound but Perry has wrist control. Stepanov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Stepanov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Perry works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Perry is striking from the bottom but Stepanov uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Stepanov is just content to waste time from the top position. Perry takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perry throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Stepanov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Stepanov trying to control but Perry is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Perry utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perry will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Perry striking off his back but it's not causing Stepanov any problems. Stepanov postures up and lands a big shot to Perry's brow. Stepanov postures up in Perry's guard and throws a big left but Perry blocks it. Stepanov pushes down on Perry's leg and manages to get into half guard. Perry kicks Stepanov off and gets back to his feet. Stepanov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Perry but Perry pushes him off and we're back to square one. Stepanov takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Perry jabbing away but nothing is landing. Perry throws an overhand right that lands on Stepanov's shoulder, as Stepanov tries to avoid the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perry displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Edson Perry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stepanov has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Stepanov there as he acknowledges the shot. Stepanov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Nice jab there from Perry.
Stepanov is rocked! Stepanov swinging wildly here.
Perry ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Stepanov staying out of range there. Perry lands a head shot. Perry cracks Stepanov with a good jab. Stepanov is still on wobbly legs! Can Perry finish him? Stepanov gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Perry gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
