The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maresio scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Bryce Niles has been cut.
Maresio throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Theodor Maresio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maresio feints and as Niles raises his hands in defense, Maresio changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Maresio wants to control from the top but Niles keeps moving.
Maresio trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maresio got a little sloppy there for a moment and Niles has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maresio has managed to get both his arms back between Niles's legs - danger averted.
Maresio must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Niles looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Maresio is defending well. Niles quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Maresio has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Niles celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
