Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Long!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Francis gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Long.


It looks like Paul Francis has been cut.

Long is trying to get back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Long.

Francis blocks the elbow strike.

Francis fails to pull guard.
Long gets underhooks to prevent Francis's takedown attempt.

Francis managing to block the knees to the body from Long.
Long with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Long looking to control but instead Francis has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Long looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Francis is trying to maintain the position but Long is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Long dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Paul Francis's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Long misses with an attempted mid kick.
Long swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Long throws a quick inside leg kick.
Long throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Long connects with a nice looking jab.
No joy there for Long, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Left hook, right uppercut from Long.
Long rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Francis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Marcus Long seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Francis looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Long!

Francis working for a guillotine from mount but Long is in no mood to give up.
Francis avoids the attempt from Long to control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Francis is striking from the back but Long escapes and manages to recover to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Long wants to control but Francis is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Long is staying active underneath Francis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Francis wants to get back to his feet.
Long holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Francis sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Long defending well though.
Long is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Francis looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Long!
Francis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Long is controlling Francis's trapped leg to prevent Francis from advancing to side control.

Francis lands with some strikes.

A close second round but Marcus Long will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Long darts in and clinches Francis up against the cage.
Long lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Francis backwards.
Francis's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Long gets through Francis's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Long lands an elbow inside that Francis shrugs off.
Long makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Long gets through Francis's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Long digs a right hand into Francis's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Francis's gas tank.
Long lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Long throws an elbow but it misses.
Long lands with a short shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
with the fighters clinched against the cage, Long creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Long gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Francis jumps guard but Long stands there with Francis around his waist. Francis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Francis has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Long avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Long throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Francis has Long pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Long manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Francis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Long's waist but Long gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Francis off to one side.

Long missing with a left hand there. Francis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Long must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Marcus Long comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Long winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
