Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Emory Majors (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Welch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Welch is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Stemm's Face The Pain. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Emory Majors! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bryan Welch! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Majors moves out of range of the body kick. Majors takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Welch tries to keep at a distance but Majors has taken the fight into the clinch. Majors successfully pulls guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Majors working a defensive guard but Welch manages to pass into side control anyway.
Welch in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Welch in the domination position with Majors hanging on. Welch creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Welch wants to lay and pray for a moment but Majors keeps working. Majors is working to avoid the ground and pound but Welch connects with a decent elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Majors pushes Welch away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Welch gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Majors parries the strikes from Welch easily there. Welch is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Majors to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Majors tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Welch wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Welch throws a strike aimed at the side of Majors's head but Majors avoids it well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Welch wants to lay and pray for a moment but Majors keeps working. Majors is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Welch off and has taken his back! Welch defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Majors's arms. I really don't envy Welch right now.
Can Welch hold on?! Majors is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Welch wants to escape the position.
Majors has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Welch. You can see the frustration on Welch's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Majors.
Majors has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Majors keeps control of the position as Welch tries to break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is taking a good look at Welch as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Majors!

Majors doesn't have the hooks in and Welch manages to turn into his guard.
Majors utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Welch preventing the sweep. Welch postures up in Majors's guard and throws a big left but Majors blocks it. Majors has control of Welch's left arm, preventing Welch from doing any damage. Welch not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Majors wants to stand up but Welch is controlling him. Welch wants to control from the top but Majors keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Welch throws a leg kick and Majors counters with a nice body kick.
Bryan Welch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Majors avoids the body shot from Welch.
Welch misses with a body shot.
Majors uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Welch.
Welch fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Majors looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Majors shoots in for a takedown but Welch shows good takedown defense. Majors feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Majors trying to control but Welch is working from the bottom. Welch trying to control the position.
Majors makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Majors wants to get up but he can't break Welch's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Majors trying to control but Welch is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Majors stands up from Welch's guard - Majors perhaps looking for a knockout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Welch fails to land with a series of punches.
Majors pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Welch stuffs the takedown attempt from Majors. Majors gets slowly back to his feet. Majors has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Emory Majors. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Welch moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Emory Majors will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Majors uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Welch. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Welch.
Welch throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Majors counters with a thumping low kick. Welch throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Welch misses with a jab, cross combination.
Majors throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Welch's waist but Welch gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Majors off to one side. Majors tries to score a power double leg takedown but Welch sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Majors somewhat. Majors dives in and scores a takedown into Welch's guard. Majors lands a couple of elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Welch manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Welch lands with some strikes. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Welch cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Welch lands a big elbow. Emory Majors overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Majors is trying to escape the mount.
Majors is working hard here to advance position. Welch trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Majors tries to get back to half guard but can't. Majors tries to hold on but Welch pushes him away. Welch controlling from the full mount. Welch can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Majors is looking to escape. Majors keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Majors is in a horrible position here. Welch smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Welch is landing with some decent strikes but Majors is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Majors avoids a series of strikes thrown by Welch.
Welch trying to control but he's not successful this time. Majors gets back to half guard. Majors wants to get back to full guard. Majors moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Welch in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Majors wants to sweep but no luck. Welch landing with the ground and pound. Welch must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Majors is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Majors blocks the strikes from Welch.
Majors throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Majors is looking for a kimura here.
Majors lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Majors working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bryan Welch will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

and Majors counters with a nice double leg into side control. Welch won't be happy with that. You can see the frustration on Welch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Majors cracks Welch with a big right hand but Welch just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Majors prevents Welch from improving his position. Welch pushes Majors off looking to stand but Majors dives back in and keeps control.
Majors missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Welch wants to improve his position but Majors is controlling well.
Majors postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Welch to stand up. Majors takes one on the chin but seems OK.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Welch jabbing away but nothing is landing. Welch jabs at Majors's body. Welch misses with the combination.

and Majors counters with a takedown into side control. Welch takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Majors tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Majors is looking to take a break and control but Welch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Welch taking a bit of punishment here - Majors scoring with strikes. Majors controlling the position from side mount. Majors working the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Welch is looking for a sweep. Majors is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Welch is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Majors decides to take the fight back to the feet. Majors gets a clinch. Majors can't find room to land a body shot as Welch controls the action.
Welch wants to get back to striking at distance but Majors won't allow it.
Majors wants to stall.
Welch is trying to push Majors away but Majors has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Majors has Welch pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Welch manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Majors pulls guard effortlessly. Majors wants to get back to his feet but Welch is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Majors keeping moving, preventing Welch from controlling successfully. Majors wants to stand but Welch is controlling the position. Majors manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Welch dodges the punch combination from Majors.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Welch thuds his shin into the meat of Majors's side. Majors with a body punch. A glancing blow.
And that's the end of the fight! Emory Majors showed his dominance in that final round. I think Majors has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
