Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shingo Takeda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ran Sakamoto! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takeda throws a right and a left that Sakamoto avoids nicely. Sakamoto looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Sakamoto fails to land the takedown. Takeda misses with a low kick. Takeda throws a nice looking combination but Sakamoto bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sakamoto tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Takeda lands a nice shot to the body.
Takeda cracks a nice hook into Sakamoto's ribs. Takeda throws a head kick that misses. Sakamoto shoots in for a takedown but Takeda shows good takedown defense. Sakamoto moves out of range of the body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takeda lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Takeda misses with a few strikes there.
Sakamoto shoots for a takedown but Takeda saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Shingo Takeda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ran Sakamoto. Takeda looks to throw the jab but Sakamoto is out of range. A big left from Takeda misses. Sakamoto shoots in and drives through. Takeda sprawls well. Sakamoto slips a jab and a cross from Takeda.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Sakamoto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A left and a right from Takeda both land. Nice combination. Takeda could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Takeda swats away the attempt to clinch by Sakamoto. Takeda scores with a body shot.

Donk. Takeda catches Sakamoto right on the button with a cross. Sakamoto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Takeda pinned against the cage. Takeda gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Sakamoto dodges the punch combination from Takeda.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takeda scores with a nice head shot. Sakamoto has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Takeda. Sakamoto dodges the punch combination from Takeda.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sakamoto uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Takeda. Takeda swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Sakamoto walks forward, straight into a front kick from Takeda. Sakamoto takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Nice shot lands for Takeda. Sakamoto slips under a jab from Takeda. Sakamoto is trying desperately to land a takedown but Takeda is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Sakamoto. Sakamoto takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Takeda throws a shot from downtown. Sakamoto moves away and avoids it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shingo Takeda dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Sakamoto walks forward, straight into a front kick from Takeda. The fighters circling - Takeda throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Takeda throws a leg kick but Sakamoto moved away. Sakamoto looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Takeda ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sakamoto moves away. Sakamoto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Takeda as he jumps to the side. Sakamoto avoids the head kick by Takeda.
Sakamoto tries to close the distance and clinch up but Takeda swats him away and circles back towards the center. Sakamoto is breathing heavily. Sakamoto wants to clinch up but Takeda keeps it at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. No joy there for Takeda, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sakamoto takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Takeda scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sakamoto doesn't seem bothered though. Some wild striking there from Takeda.
Takeda pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Nice straight punches there by Takeda. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Takeda. Takeda looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Takeda misses with a body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. A big right from Takeda misses. Takeda catches Sakamoto with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Takeda lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Sakamoto fails with a takedown attempt. Takeda fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sakamoto tries for a takedown but Takeda sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Shingo Takeda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ran Sakamoto. No joy there for Takeda, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Nice takedown defense from Takeda. No joy for Sakamoto on that attempt. Takeda tries to land a front kick but Sakamoto steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Takeda throws a body punch but Sakamoto moves out of range. Takeda throws a shot to the body.

Takeda connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sakamoto's hands. Sakamoto closes the distance and clinches up with Takeda, looking for a takedown. Sakamoto pushes Takeda against the cage but Takeda circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Takeda misses the shot to the body. Sakamoto takes one to the chin there. Takeda throws a low kick but it's checked well by Sakamoto. Shingo Takeda is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Takeda swats away the attempt to clinch by Sakamoto. A head kick misses from Takeda. A combination from Takeda does no damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Takeda lands a really nice looking cross but Sakamoto seems unphased.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Takeda. Sakamoto shrugs it off though. A combination from Takeda does no damage. Sakamoto is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Takeda. Takeda scores with a kick to the midsection. Sakamoto takes one on the chin but seems OK.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Takeda tries to bum rush Sakamoto with a series of wild strikes but Sakamoto uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Sakamoto might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Takeda has got the better of the exchanges. Danga de danga de dang - Takeda scores with a four punch combination! A punch combination from Takeda misses. Takeda scores with a shot to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Takeda throws the left hand but Sakamoto avoids the punch easily. Takeda misses with a straight left. Some wild striking there from Takeda.
Takeda throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sakamoto walks into a left hand. Takeda scores with a one two! Sakamoto had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Takeda fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sakamoto manages to avoid it. Sakamoto dodges the punch combination from Takeda.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sakamoto is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Takeda. Shingo Takeda is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Takeda throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Takeda throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sakamoto. Takeda throws a wild body kick that Sakamoto sees coming a mile off. Takeda thuds a left hand into Sakamoto's body. Sakamoto has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Takeda. No joy there for Takeda, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sakamoto chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Takeda can pounce on him.
Ran Sakamoto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Takeda missing with a left hand there. Sakamoto was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
And that's the end of the fight! Shingo Takeda showed his dominance in that final round. Well Takeda has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
