Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coolidge fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ruuti sprawls well initially but Coolidge persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Coolidge wants to advance to full mount but Ruuti doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Ruuti really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Coolidge trying to control the position from guard on top but Ruuti is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruuti doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Ruuti can't keep his opponent in guard - Coolidge advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Coolidge is working for a submission of some sort.

Coolidge is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Coolidge wants to work for an arm triangle but Ruuti is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Ruuti manages to get to full guard.
Coolidge stands and steps away. Ruuti gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Ruuti lands with a kick to the temple. Coolidge shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Ruuti throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Ruuti shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Coolidge is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Coolidge bucks Ruuti off and manages to get back to his feet!

Ruuti is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Coolidge drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ruuti looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ruuti looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ruuti!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Coolidge tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Coolidge is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ruuti connects with a decent elbow.
Coolidge manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
