Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maraetai Hamilton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roy Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maraetai Hamilton! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hamilton fails with a takedown attempt. Nelson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hamilton counters with a nice double leg into guard. Hamilton's corner is telling him to maintain position. Nelson has a closed guard, preventing Hamilton from standing up. Hamilton trying to control but Nelson is working from the bottom. Hamilton is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Maraetai Hamilton wasn't active enough on the ground. Nelson swinging wildly here.
Hamilton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Roy Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamilton throws a hook to the side of Nelson's head but Nelson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Nelson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hamilton takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like Maraetai Hamilton has been cut. Nelson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hamilton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nelson was covering up waiting for the punch and Hamilton finishes the takedown easily into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hamilton lying in Nelson's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Nelson decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Hamilton taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
