The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morrenove stuffs the takedown attempt from Franklin. Franklin gets slowly back to his feet.
Franklin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Morrenove circles away.
Morrenove clinches up against the ropes.
Franklin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Morrenove's efforts to push away.
Morrenove tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Franklin tries to score a body lock takedown but Morrenove shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Morrenove tries to clinch up but Franklin circles away and keeps his distance.

and Morrenove counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Franklin has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Morrenove after a bit of a struggle.
Franklin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Morrenove is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Franklin has Morrenove pressed against the ropes, preventing Morrenove from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Franklin is trying to drag Morrenove to the mat but Morrenove just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Morrenove struggling a bit here.

That was a close round but I would say that Ben Franklin will probably get the nod.

Morrenove throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Franklin's waist but Franklin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Morrenove off to one side.

Franklin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Franklin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Morrenove tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Franklin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Franklin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Franklin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Morrenove is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Franklin cracks Morrenove with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Franklin connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Morrenove some visible discomfort.
Franklin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Morrenove is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Franklin is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Morrenove really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Franklin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Franklin is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Morrenove to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Morrenove shrugs it off.

Morrenove takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Franklin's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
