PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Fiato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bing Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boom has chosen NokiSowa as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Bing Boom is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Josh Fiato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bing Boom!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Boom fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fiato, pushing him back against the cage.
Fiato is trying to break free.
Fiato has had enough of the clinch but Boom keeps him there for the moment.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Boom.
Fiato tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Boom breaks from the clinch.

Boom shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fiato's guard.
Boom wants to control from the top but Fiato keeps moving.
Fiato wants to sweep but no luck.

Fiato escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boom gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Boom stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fiato swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Boom is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Boom postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Boom drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Fiato dives on top into guard.

Boom is trying to hold Fiato in close to prevent damage but Fiato has managed to pass into half guard.
Boom looks like he's trying to stand up.
Fiato works his way into full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Boom is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fiato manages to capitalize on a mistake by Boom to take his back!

Fiato has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Boom has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Boom is keeping busy.
Fiato doesn't have the hooks in and Boom manages to turn into his guard.

Boom drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Fiato dives on top into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boom looks gassed!

Fiato trying to control but Boom is working from the bottom.

Boom has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fiato can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Fiato lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Fiato trying to control the position from guard on top but Boom is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boom can't keep his opponent in guard - Fiato advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Boom slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Boom working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fiato doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fiato manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Boom has his feet on Fiato's thighs here. He's pushed Fiato off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Fiato screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
