Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ronny Suominen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Tan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suominen's entrance music is Eminem: Nail in the Coffin. A fine choice. Jason Tan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ronny Suominen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jason Tan! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suominen shoots for a double leg takedown but Tan sprawls well. He's pushed Suominen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Tan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Suominen counters with an inside leg kick. Tan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Suominen circles away quickly and effectively. Suominen shoots in and gets a takedown into Tan's guard. Suominen with a flurry of punches that miss. Tan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Suominen is stalling in the full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Suominen shoots in but no luck this time. Tan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Suominen. Suominen throws a sloppy head kick and Tan moves out of range easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tan throws a right and a left that Suominen avoids nicely. Sloppy strikes from Tan. Those never looked like landing. Tan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A right-left combo lands from Tan. Tan swinging wildly here.
Suominen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tan as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronny Suominen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Suominen counters with a head kick. Suominen looking to score a takedown here. Tan is defending well but Suominen drives through and ends up in Tan's guard. Tan wants to get back to his feet but Suominen is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Suominen controls the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Tan fails to land with a series of punches.
Tan misses with a few strikes there.
Tan throws a right hand that Suominen ducks under and follows up with a left that Suominen also avoids with ease. Sloppy strikes from Tan. Those never looked like landing. Suominen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tan was covering up waiting for the punch and Suominen finishes the takedown easily into guard. Suominen trying to control the position from guard on top but Tan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Suominen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Suominen counters with a nice double leg into guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tan can do anything to dispel that myth. Suominen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Suominen looking to pass the guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Suominen shoots for a takedown but Tan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Tan looks to land a combination but Suominen avoids it well. Tan gets caught napping as Suominen dives in and scores a takedown. Tan manages to retain guard. Suominen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Tan is looking to stand up but Suominen isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tan throws a right and a left that both miss. Tan throws a combination that misses and Suominen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tan! Suominen goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Tan is on top in guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Suominen looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Tan passes into half guard.
Suominen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tan's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Suominen is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Tan knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Tan for a finish. Tan is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Suominen gets his way!
Suominen looking to break Tan's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Tan remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Suominen will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tan is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. Tan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Suominen. Tan swinging wildly here.

Jason Tan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck with that takedown attempt from Suominen. Tan throws a combination that misses and Suominen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tan won't be happy with that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Suominen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Tan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Suominen but great work by Tan. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Suominen tries to buck Tan off but Tan is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ronny Suominen dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Suominen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Suominen advances to half guard. Suominen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Suominen is just content to waste time from the top position. Tan takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Suominen passes into half guard. Ronny Suominen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tan wants to get back to his feet. Jason Tan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Suominen throwing shots but Tan is blocking nicely. Tan is not content to let Suominen control the position. Suominen is looking for a kimura here.

Suominen seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Tan has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Ronny Suominen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Suominen tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

And that's the end of the fight! Ronny Suominen showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Suominen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
