Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeshita Otsuma!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shiba clinches.
Shiba lands an elbow just above Otsuma 's eye.
Shiba missing with knees to the body.
Shiba breaks from the clinch.
Shiba plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Otsuma is rocked!
Shiba tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Otsuma avoids the head kick by Shiba.
Otsuma shoots in and drives through. Shiba sprawls well.
Shiba misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Otsuma shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shiba sprawls well. Shiba wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Otsuma gets slowly back to his feet.
Shiba is looking to clinch but Otsuma is avoiding it.
Otsuma avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Otsuma tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Otsuma gets tackled into the cage by Shiba. Shiba maintains the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Otsuma wants to get back to striking at distance but Shiba won't allow it.

Otsuma is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Otsuma tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Shiba is posturing up here but Otsuma has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Shiba tries to roll out but it's too tight and Shiba has to tap! Slick submission there by Otsuma!
