Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Houle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Toe 2 Toe. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Houle manages to avoid it.
Houle fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Thompson sprawls well initially but Houle persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Houle passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Thompson!
Houle scores with a couple of good head shots there.
It looks like Stephen Thompson has been cut.

Thompson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Houle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Houle's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Houle seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Thompson for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Houle cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Houle takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Houle lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Thompson hang on?

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Houle could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Houle has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bryan Houle wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Houle shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Houle is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Thompson!

The cut above Stephen Thompson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Houle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stephen Thompson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Stephen Thompson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
