Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richie Yang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Hall!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall lands with a nice combination. Yang backs away looking to recover.
Hall scores with a sloppy right hand. Yang should have avoided that one.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Yang.

Yang working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yang working away.
Yang advances nicely into full mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yang thowing shots but they're missing.
Yang throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Yang looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Hall is trying to escape the mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Yang is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hall can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Yang working for a guillotine from mount but Hall is in no mood to give up.
Hall is looking to improve his position but Yang isn't that keen on the idea.
Hall tries to lock up and control but Yang gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Yang trying to control but Hall is having none of it.

Yang looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
You get the feeling that Hall really doesn't like being in this position too much.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Yang is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hall has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Hall has left one of his arms exposed and Yang doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Hall screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Richie Yang!
