Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Tippin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rooster Cogburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rooster Cogburn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pete Tippin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rooster Cogburn! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cogburn moves into the clinch. A short right from Cogburn. Tippin is trying to pull guard but Cogburn has him pressed against the cage. Cogburn tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

It looks like Pete Tippin has been cut. Cogburn misses with an elbow strike.
Tippin tries to pull guard but Cogburn forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Tippin is looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pete Tippin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cogburn throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Tippins head. Cogburn blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Cogburn tries to land a knee to the head but Tippin blocks with his arms.
Tippin tries to pull guard but Cogburn holds him up against the cage and eventually Tippin drops back down to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cogburn misses with an elbow over the top. Tippin manages to pull guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Tippin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tippin is on top in guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Tippin stops Cogburn from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tippin trying to control but Cogburn is working from the bottom. Cogburn wants to stand up but Tippin is controlling him. Tippin throws a big right hand that misses. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cogburn can do anything to dispel that myth. Tippin is in close to Cogburn's body, working some short punches and elbows. Cogburn pushes Tippin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Tippin drives through and clinches with Cogburn against the cage.
Tippin takes an elbow to the temple. Tippin is working for takedown but Cogburn is calmly controlling the position for now. Cogburn gets underhooks to prevent Tippin's takedown attempt.
Tippin jumps guard and drags Cogburn to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Tippin has a closed guard, preventing Cogburn from standing up. Tippin has control of Cogburn's left arm, preventing Cogburn from doing any damage. Cogburn would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Cogburn fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tippin, pushing him back against the cage. Tippin lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Cogburn throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tippin blocks it with crossed arms. Cogburn with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Tippin pulls guard effortlessly. Tippin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tippin controlling Cogburn's posture. Cogburn wants to get up but he can't break Tippin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Tippin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cogburn manages to get himself to full guard.
Tippin wants to control from the top but Cogburn keeps moving. Tippin passes easily into side control. Nice work. Tippin in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Cogburn is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
