Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Koopa Troopa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Troopa comes to the cage accompanied by Koopa Troopa. Jason Woods is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Woods. No joy for Troopa on that attempt.
Troopa waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Woods.
Woods leaves Troopa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Woods takes the fight into the clinch.
Troopa jumps guard but Woods stands there with Troopa around his waist. Troopa gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Koopa Troopa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Woods.
Troopa drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Troopa drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Woods gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Troopa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Woods sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Troopa somewhat.

Woods stuffs the takedown attempt from Troopa. Troopa gets slowly back to his feet.

and Woods counters with a one-two to the body.

Troopa shoots in looking for a takedown but Woods manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Troopa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Woods connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Troopa throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Woods tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Troopa is in Woods's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Woods wants to stand up but Troopa is controlling him.

Troopa wants to work for an arm triangle but Woods is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Troopa is keen to just control but Woods is a slippery customer.
Troopa is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Woods is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Woods is rocked!
It looks like Jason Woods has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Troopa has hold of Woods's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Woods manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Woods is still in real trouble! Can Troopa finish him?
Troopa lands a heavy elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Koopa Troopa dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
A combination from Woods does no damage.
Woods seems to have recovered his senses.

Troopa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Troopa connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Woods some visible discomfort.
Jason Woods's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jason Woods's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
