PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tokui Kano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adrian Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peterson has chosen Mastodon - Oblivion as his entrance music. Adrian Peterson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Adrian Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kano tries for a takedown but Peterson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kano closes the distance and clinches up with Peterson, looking for a takedown. Kano pushes Peterson against the ropes but Peterson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Peterson tries to clinch but Kano moves out of range.
Peterson doesn't manage to clinch there - Kano circles away.
Peterson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Peterson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kano fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tokui Kano. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Peterson tries to clinch but Kano moves away

and Kano counters with a single leg into guard. Peterson didn't expect that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Peterson wants to stand but Kano is controlling the position.

Peterson pushes Kano off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Kano shoots in and drives through. Peterson sprawls well.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Peterson is looking to clinch but Kano is avoiding it.

Horrible takedown by Kano or perhaps it was just good defense by Peterson which made him look bad.

Peterson creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Kano's defenses.
Peterson works on Kano's body with a couple of short punches.
Kano is breathing heavily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Peterson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Peterson gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Tokui Kano has been cut.

The referee is keeping an eye on Peterson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Kano jumps guard but Peterson stands there with Kano around his waist. Kano gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kano is trying to pull guard but Peterson has him pressed against the ropes.

Tokui Kano's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Peterson lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Peterson drops Kano onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Kano is propped up by the ropes and works his way back to his feet!
