Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Luc Deveraux! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Phil Ryan! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deveraux lands with a thumping leg kick.
Deveraux defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ryan. Deveraux scores with a one two! Ryan had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Phil Ryan has been cut. A left lands for Deveraux. Deveraux misses with a looping right. Ryan shoots in and drives through. Deveraux sprawls well. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Deveraux!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Deveraux connects with a leg kick. Ryan looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Deveraux throws the left hand but Ryan avoids the punch easily. Ryan fails in his attempt to clinch. Deveraux with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Deveraux lands with an uppercut that bounces Ryan off the cage and back into range. Ryan uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Deveraux displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ryan. Luc Deveraux has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Ryan. A nice leg kick lands there from Ryan. Deveraux connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Ryan throws a right hand that Deveraux ducks under and follows up with a left that Deveraux also avoids with ease. Ryan fails to land the takedown. Deveraux fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ryan checks it well. Deveraux lands a right hook to the body.
Deveraux misses with a hook. Ryan ducked under it nicely. Luc Deveraux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ryan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Deveraux. Deveraux connects with a single shot there. Deveraux scoring well with a low kick there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ryan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Deveraux. Ryan takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Deveraux throws a sloppy head kick and Ryan moves out of range easily. Ryan tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Good standup being displayed there by Deveraux as he connects with a hook. Ryan is trying desperately to land a takedown but Deveraux is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Ryan. Deveraux connects with a high kick. Deveraux lunges at Ryan with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ryan's hand. Deveraux swings for the body but Ryan moves out of range.

Deveraux thows a leg kick but Ryan checks it and Ryan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Ryan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Deveraux has managed to free his arm - good work. Ryan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Ryan not doing much here.
Deveraux is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Deveraux trying to control but Ryan postures up.
Deveraux is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Ryan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Deveraux controlling the position for now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ryan is trying to work for a kimura. Luc Deveraux dominated that round. The cut man is working on Phil Ryan's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Deveraux takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Deveraux misses with a takedown attempt - Ryan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Deveraux misses with a few strikes there.
Phil Ryan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Deveraux tries to bum rush Ryan with a series of wild strikes but Ryan uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Deveraux connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Ryan is looking to clinch but Deveraux is avoiding it.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Deveraux, right into the meat.

and Ryan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Deveraux won't be happy with that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ryan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Deveraux keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ryan tries to advance to mount but can't. Ryan trying to control the position but Deveraux is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Deveraux holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Ryan is looking to take a break and control but Deveraux is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ryan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Deveraux knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Ryan throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deveraux is pushing Ryan's head away, looking to escape. Ryan manages to hold on to the position though. Ryan has hold of Deveraux's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Deveraux seems comfortable defending it but Ryan has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Deveraux is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Deveraux is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Ryan couldn't care less - he's delighted!
