Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Roger Marsden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Cice Salace! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Phil Schofield and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salace ducks right into an uppercut from Marsden. Salace dodges the punch combination from Marsden.
Marsden throws a good cross that connects.
Marsden stuffs the takedown attempt from Salace. Salace gets slowly back to his feet. Salace on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Salace moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Salace takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Marsden thuds a left hand into Salace's body. Nice shot by Marsden. Salace misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Marsden ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marsden fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Salace looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Marsden lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Marsden scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Salace dives in and grabs Marsden's left leg, looking for a takedown. Marsden pushes down on Salace's head and hops out. Roger Marsden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cice Salace. Nice cross by Marsden. Salace throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marsden's waist but Marsden gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Salace off to one side. Marsden scores with a nice head shot. Marsden really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Marsden cracks Salace with an open hand slap. Marsden lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Salace might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Marsden has got the better of the exchanges. That's four minutes gone in the round. Salace fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Roger Marsden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cice Salace. Salace uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Marsden.
Marsden throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Salace stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Salace has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Marsden finds it's way round the side to connect with Salace's head. Marsden connects with a right hand. Salace shakes it off. Marsden fails to land with a series of punches.
Marsden throws a combination. Salace tries to block but a couple of punches get through. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Marsden scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marsden connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

This has been an exciting period of action! Salace is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Marsden is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Marsden has escaped and now he's on top! Marsden drops back, looking for a kneebar! Salace looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Salace looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Salace!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salace wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Marsden, who protects the arm well. Salace tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Salace has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Salace fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marsden tries to bench press Salace off him but Salace keeps the position. Marsden is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Marsden wants to get back to his feet.

Marsden pushes Salace off and gets back to his feet. Salace takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
