Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jim Jim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivo Petric!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Konstantin Menshow and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petric misses with a takedown
and Jim counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Jim misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Petric.
Jim swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Petric counters with an inside leg kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Petric is defended easily by Jim.
Petric lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Petric.


It looks like Jim Jim has been cut.

and Petric counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Petric.

Petric wants to take the fight to the mat but Jim manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Jim has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jim feints a jab promting Petric to slip. Jim then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Petric slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Ivo Petric has been cut.

and Petric takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jim throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Petric connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jim looks to score with a jab to the body but Petric is just out of range.
Jim fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Petric tries to clinch up but Jim circles away and keeps his distance.
Petric shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jim pinned against the cage. Jim gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Petric lands a head kick. Jim smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Petric is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Petric is looking to clinch.
Jim throws a one two combo.

Jim is looking to take this one to the mat.
Jim is breathing heavily.
Petric is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Jim is keeping busy.
Jim is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Petric pulls him back up using the underhooks.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Petric throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Petric escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jim throws a series of punches but Petric avoids them all with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Jim dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Petric shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jim as he jumps to the side.
Petric will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jim will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Petric.
Petric shoots in looking for a takedown but Jim manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Petric's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Petric closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jim did well to prevent Petric getting side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Petric throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jim was covering up waiting for the punch and Petric finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Petric looking to sit in guard and control but Jim gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Jim throws a big right hand that misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Petric controls Jim momentarily but Jim frees himself.
Jim might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jim postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jim Jim will probably get the nod.

Petric wants to control but Jim is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jim working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Jim Jim overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jim, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
