And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Renato Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyasako throws a big shot that misses.

Miyasako tries to sprawl but Gracie drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Miyasako tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.
Miyasako is working hard here to advance position.
Gracie not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Gracie wants to free his trapped foot but Miyasako is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Miyasako wants to improve his position but Gracie is controlling well.
Gracie with the ground and pound but Miyasako uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Gracie controls from within his opponent's guard.
Gracie postures up in Miyasako's guard and throws a big left but Miyasako blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Miyasako works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gracie is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Miyasako keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Miyasako slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Gracie trying to control but Miyasako is working from the bottom.

Gracie is fighting to break Miyasako's control of his arms but Miyasako is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Gracie won't allow Miyasako to sweep him here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Miyasako seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hiroyuki Miyasako.
Miyasako throws a series of strikes that have Gracie backpedaling.
Gracie moves forwards but Miyasako connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Miyasako throws a shot from downtown. Gracie moves away and avoids it.
Gracie lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Gracie.


It looks like Hiroyuki Miyasako has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie lands an overhand right.


Miyasako is rocked!
Gracie looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Oh Miyasako is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gracie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Miyasako to score with a decent uppercut.
Miyasako throws a big shot that misses.
Gracie is stalking Miyasako. Miyasako circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Gracie, and it's lights out! Miyasako really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Renato Gracie!
Renato Gracie decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
