PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Ferrigno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lesnar comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mc Renan - Aquecimento das Bandidas kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lou Ferrigno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sergio Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar slips a jab and a cross from Ferrigno.

It looks like Sergio Lesnar has been cut.

Ferrigno drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Lesnar closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Lesnar obliges.

Lesnar is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Ferrigno can't fight it off and eventually Lesnar manages to take the fight to the floor. Ferrigno looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ferrigno keeping moving, preventing Lesnar from controlling successfully.
Ferrigno has momentary wrist control but Lesnar slips an elbow through the middle.
Lesnar passes Ferrigno's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Ferrigno is trying to stand up here but Lesnar is controlling him well.

Still in half guard, Lesnar seems content to control.
Lesnar wants to take a breather but Ferrigno is having none of it.
Lesnar winds up and cracks Ferrigno with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Lesnar is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ferrigno sees it coming and defends easily.

Ferrigno wants to control but Lesnar is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Ferrigno manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Ferrigno has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lesnar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lesnar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ferrigno with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Lesnar slips a nice elbow through Ferrigno's hands, connecting with Ferrigno's forehead.
Ferrigno is not content to let Lesnar control the position.

Lesnar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ferrigno is just riding it out for now. Lesnar eventually gives up the hold.

Ferrigno is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lesnar pulls his head out easily.

Lesnar is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ferrigno has managed to free his arm - good work.
Lesnar lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lesnar looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ferrigno looks to land a combination but Lesnar avoids it well.

Lesnar lands a nice shot to the body.
Lesnar throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ferrigno sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Lesnar is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ferrigno is defending well.
Lesnar keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ferrigno's efforts to push away.
Lou Ferrigno has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lesnar lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Sergio Lesnar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lesnar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
