Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Carlo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruthless Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruthless Junior will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior missing with a left hand there. Carlo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Junior can do anything to dispel that myth.

Carlo drops back looking for a leg! Junior is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Junior manages to kick Carlo off! Carlo jumps back into Junior's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Junior swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Carlo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Junior misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Carlo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Carlo shoots in and drives through. Junior sprawls well.
Carlo throws a hook to the side of Junior's head but Junior sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Carlo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Junior.

Junior tries to bum rush Carlo with a series of wild strikes but Carlo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Carlo shoots in looking for a takedown but Junior manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carlo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Carlo closes the distance and clinches up with Junior, looking for a takedown. Carlo pushes Junior against the cage but Junior circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Carlo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Junior defends it well.

Carlo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Junior doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carlo.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Carlo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Carlo takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Junior looks to land a left hand but Carlo moved out of range nicely.
Junior's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Carlo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Junior scrambles back to his feet.
Junior throws a shot from downtown. Carlo moves away and avoids it.

Carlo moves out of range as Junior strikes.
Carlo swings for the body but Junior moves out of range.
Carlo slips a jab from Junior.
Ruthless Junior is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Carlo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
