Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Connors (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Palmeri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palmeri has chosen dragon rider as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel Connors!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Frank Palmeri!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmeri rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Connors moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Palmeri pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Palmeri wants to clinch up but Connors keeps it at a distance.

Palmeri shoots in and bounces Connors off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Palmeri must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Connors looking to control.
Connors has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Palmeri wants to control from the top but Connors keeps moving.
Connors is trying to control the position but Palmeri postures up.

Connors is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Palmeri closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Palmeri changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Connors looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Connors tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Palmeri presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Palmeri lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Connors is looking to improve his position but Palmeri isn't that keen on the idea.

Palmeri wants to control the pace but Connors is squirming around nicely.

Connors takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Palmeri lands a heavy elbow.

Connors manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Connors.

Palmeri pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Palmeri shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Palmeri showed some decent athleticism there.
Well, if Palmeri is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Palmeri is working for a kimura but Connors is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Palmeri swings for the body but Connors moves out of range.
Connors misses with a takedown attempt - Palmeri sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Daniel Connors is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Connors shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Palmeri napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Connors working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Connors wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Palmeri, who protects the arm well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Connors goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Palmeri has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Connors but great work by Palmeri.

Frank Palmeri is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Palmeri takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Frank Palmeri comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Palmeri has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
