The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Disaster moves out of range as Nichols throws a body kick.
Disaster misses the shot to the body.
Disaster blocks the body kick.
Disaster throws a series of punches but Nichols avoids them all with ease.
Nichols wants to slow Disaster down by chopping away at his legs.
Nichols throws a low kick but it's checked well by Disaster.
Nichols misses with a head kick.
Disaster takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Nichols lands a two punch combo.
Nichols looks to land a right hand but Disaster moved out of range.

and Disaster counters with a nice low kick that buckles Nichols's knee momentarily.

Disaster bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nichols throws a leg kick but Disaster checks it.

Disaster shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Nichols eats them both and turns towards Disaster to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Nichols ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Disaster moves away.
Disaster connects with the punch.
No joy there for Disaster, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A nice inside leg kick there by Nichols. That's going to slow Disaster down.
Nichols pushes Disaster up against the cage in a clinch.
Nichols manages to break the clinch.
Nichols shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nichols was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Disaster tries to lock up and control but Nichols gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Disaster is looking to get to half guard.
Nichols tries to control but Disaster wriggling away.
Nichols is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Disaster to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Disaster shrugs it off.
Nichols wants to take his opponent's back but Disaster doesn't allow it.
Disaster is desperately trying to improve his position but Nichols has a good base and remains in mount.
Nichols misses with a head shot.
Nichols trying to control but Disaster is having none of it.

Disaster wants to hold on but Nichols pushes him away.

Disaster manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Disaster tries to kick Nichols off but Nichols keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Nichols tries to pass to full mount but Disaster defends it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nichols is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Disaster won't allow Nichols to pass to mount.
Nichols throwing shots but Disaster is blocking nicely.

Disaster wants to stand but Nichols is controlling the position.

Nichols drops back looking for a leg! Disaster is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Disaster manages to kick Nichols off! Nichols jumps back into Disaster's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Chris Nichols will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Nichols lets loose with a powerful body kick. Disaster will feel that in the morning.

Disaster pushes Nichols against the cage. Disaster is working some dirty boxing. Disaster pushes off with a quick right hook! Nichols goes down! Nichols tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Disaster moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
